NIGERIA @60: Renew Faith with Nigeria - Ossai Ochonogor Urges Nigerians
As Nigerians all over the world celebrates the 60th Independence Anniversary of her Nation, the DESOPADEC commissioner representing Ndokwa Nation, Dr. Ossai Samuel Ochonogor, has felicitated with Nigerians with a call on citizens to renew faith with the country.
In a press statement made available today, he said that October 1st 1960 marked a turning point in the political history of Nigeria by ushering the most populous black nation into a new political atmosphere of self government, founded on freedom, unity and faith.
Dr. Ossai Ochonogor urged Nigerians to renew their faith towards the sovereignty, unity, growth and development of the nation.
He called on Nigerians to stay united and speak with one voice especially on national issues to overcome the challenges facing the country.
"Let us not forget that our nation is better off in unity than in division and we are committed to pool every string that gird our unity".
"We must speak with one voice in unity and harmony to ensuring that the labour of our heroes is not taken for granted", he said.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria would eventually come out Stronger and take its prime place in the comity of Nations in due course.
He however, commended Deltans for their continues support to the policies of the state government under the Smart adminstration of H.E. Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa.
He urged Deltans to continue to support the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, adding that the Government of Delta State are committed to building a Stronger Delta.
Dr. Ossai Samuel Ochonogor wished Nigerians a happy 60th Independence Anniversary celebration and prayed God Almighty to continue to help Nigeria and Nigerians.
