COVID-19: UGO NWOKOLO DISTRIBUTES CASH, FOOD ITEMS TO NDOKWA COMMUNITY In furtherance to his earlier financial palliative to youths in Ndokwa Nation, Ugo Nwokolo, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the weekend, distributed food palliatives to residents in Ossissa Kingdom, Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State. Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, Ugo Nwokolo, popularly called Overdo, said that he donated the food items to support the efforts of Delta State government and other well meaning Deltans in providing palliatives to ease the effect of the proactive "lockdown" on the people. Ugo Nwokolo, a renowned philanthropist, is known for his celerity towards the plight and yearnings of Ndokwa people. DELTA FOOD BANK: DESOPADEC COMMISSIONER, OSSAI OCHONOGOR HAILS GOV. OKOWA The Government of Delta State has been commended for establishing a Food Bank and for distributing food palliatives to Deltans, aimed at cushioning the effect of the "lockdown" on residents of the state. Dr. Ossai Samuel Ochonogor, the Commissioner representing Ukwuani LGA in the Board of DESOPADEC, gave the commendation on Monday at his Ebedei country home. The government of Delta State in their fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state had established a Food Bank to serve as palliative to residents of the state, especially the most vulnerable. Consequently, the state government during the weekend opened up the food bank for onward distribution to all parts of the state. Commending Gov. Dr. Alphonsus Ojo has commenced the distribution of food items such as bags of rice, beans, cartons of indomie, hand sanitizers and face masks and cash support to residents in Ukwuani local government area of Delta State. The gesture which is aimed at the most vulnerable within the Local Government, according to the former Delta Lawmaker, is to cushion the economic effects of the  stay-at-home directive.
