COVID-19: UGO NWOKOLO DISTRIBUTES CASH, FOOD ITEMS TO NDOKWA COMMUNITY



In furtherance to his earlier financial palliative to youths in Ndokwa Nation, Ugo Nwokolo, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the weekend, distributed food palliatives to residents in Ossissa Kingdom, Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State.

Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, Ugo Nwokolo, popularly called Overdo, said that he donated the food items to support the efforts of Delta State government and other well meaning Deltans in providing palliatives to ease the effect of the proactive "lockdown" on the people.

Ugo Nwokolo, a renowned philanthropist, is known for his celerity towards the plight and yearnings of Ndokwa people.

He further said that the gesture was to make the stay-at-home order of Delta State government more effective, in containing COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The illustrious son of Ndokwa Nation stressed that his altruistic act was also aimed at encouraging the people at this critical time.

He urged Ndokwa people to continually adhere to government directives by observing social distancing and other measures in order to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

He noted that the measures put in place by the state is in the best interest of all Deltans.

Overdo, appealed to the good people of Ndokwa Nation not to trivialise COVID-19. "We must adhere to government directives to be safe".

He added that Deltans will remain grateful to H.E. Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa on steps taken so far in protecting Deltans and containing the spread of the disease in the state.

However, aside from the cash gifts to numerous people in Ndokwa Nation, the food items distributed included bags of rice (50kg), bags of beans (100kg) and cartons of indomie, for children.
