NWOGOR CALLS FOR DELTA SCHOOLS PURIFICATION```

The Governor of Delta State His Excellency, Sen (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa is expected to address Deltans by May 31, 2020.

The Governor's address would be centered on the COVID-19 pandemic but with unique attention on the scope of the Reopening of Schools.

The state Governor had on March 26, 2020, suspended academic operations in the state as part of measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the world has come to the reality of the necessity to return to normality while exertion is corroborated for the purpose of containing and eradicating the pandemic. This development has been embraced by nations, even those nations that are worst hit by the plague, are all returning to normal activities.

It is the view of most Nigerians that the country is fully reopened and for academic activities to be reinstated with strict measures put in place to promote the health and safety of students in places of learning.

However, Hon. Chukwutem Nwogor has poured encomium on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

In a media parley on Tuesday in Amai Kingdom, Hon. Nwogor said that the Governor has demonstrated expertise, foresight, patriotism, clairvoyance and has been proactive in handling the wake of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Hon. Chukwutem Nwogor who is the PDP treasurer of Ukwuani LGA of the state, also mentioned that members of Stronger Delta Team have also put in their best and a lot of sacrifices with a view to containing the virus and protecting the lives of Deltans.

Citing the activities of the SSG Hon. Chiedu Ebie, with encomium, Nwogor said that everyone assigned a duty by the Governor has been delivering with great patriotism, even under the rains.

While reacting to the conditions of schools, across the state, especially the primary and secondary, Hon. Nwogor appealed to the Governor to direct the cleaning and purification of the schools to ensure they can be conducive before the resumption of academic activities.

"The lecture halls across the higher institutions in the state should be fumigated since mouse, cockroaches, snakes and other dangerous contaminants must have conquered the lecture halls".

Nwogor appealed to the State Governor to also direct the LGA authorities to handle the cases of the primary and secondary schools. "Some of the schools have become home to wide plants and animals", he added.
