Amai/Umuebu: Okowa's Aide Sues For Sustained Cooperation as Demarcation Exercise Continues

The good people of Amai and Umuebu kingdoms in Ukwani LGA of Delta State have been charged to sustain their cooperations with the government of Delta State to ensure a peaceful and successful land demarcation exercise.

The Government of Delta State through Ukwuani local Government Council on Tuesday, 8th September, 2020 commenced the delineation and demarcation exercise of the aged disputed land between Amai and Umuebu kingdoms.

In a press statement, Mr. Dike Abraham, the Senior Special Assistant on Political to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, sued for sustained cooperations, while urging the youths to preach peace, love and unity.

He poured encomium on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for working to achieve what he described as; "uncommon development".

Mr. Dike Abraham called on the youths to desist from engaging in inciting activities, especially through the Media, but rather they should support the efforts of the State Government.

He called on the traditional and political leaderships of Ukwuani LGA to do well to foil any bid by any group to sabotage the state government efforts towards achieving a peaceful demarcation exercise.

"Our paramount need should be peace, peace once achieved, breeds development and prosperity".

"I urge you to give maximum support to the State Government and offer maximum sustainability to this ultimate stride", he said.

"For a continued peaceful exercise, the agreements reached must be protected and respected by both parties, most especially the youths", he added.

Mr. Dike Abraham thanked the council Chairman, Ogbuefi Chukudi Dafe for always showing capacity in governance and for working sacrificially towards ending the aged dispute by ensuring that the said land is delineated and demarcated fairly.

He however, thanked the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa for display of political will in ensuring a lasting solution by demarcating the land to avoid further encroachment and mixed feelings by both communities.
