CONCERNED YOUTH OF NIGER DELTA CHIDES NDDC IMC OVER CHILDISH ALLEGATION
PRESS RELEASE
Our attention has been drawn to a malicious, fake and unproven article credited to the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), alleging that plastic chairs belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria worth the total sum of N3.7BN have been traced to a warehouse allegedly belonging to Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
Based on the spurious allegations, we are challenging the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC to proceed to this warehouse allegedly belonging to Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, alongside anti-corruption Agencies such as the ICPC and other security outfits such as the DSS, Nigerian Police Force, and the NSCDC in order to take possession of these chairs whilst also pressing charges.
Similarly, it is on public domain that for the sake of his unalloyed and hard-earned integrity, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, willingly secluded himself, as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta (Which also oversees affairs of NDDC) from the ad-hoc Committee of the Nigerian Senate probing the nefarious and over-the-ceiling corruption activities of the IMC. So, it beats human comprehension as to why the IMC are making calculated but failed attempts to link Senator Peter Nwaoboshi to the membership of the Senate's ad-hoc Committee probing the fleecing of NDDC by members of the Committee charged with the sole responsibility of cleaning up the interventionist agency of the Federal government of Nigeria.
The recent unfounded allegations, typical of the roguish members of the IMC of NDDC is nothing short of an attempt to discredit the current investigation by the National Assembly into the financial activities of the Interim Board, which has gotten the blessings of President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) and the entirety of South-South governors.
Discerning Nigerians are aware that N3.7BN is by no means an amount of money to be overlooked and since this is a criminal matter, we are challenging the IMC to press charges with sufficient evidence as welcomed by Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
We make bold to say that no amount of paid media propaganda and character assassination of Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi can deter the National Assembly from exercising her constitutional and oversight functions as clearly stipulated in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended) and it's only a matter of time before the truth is made manifest.
