COVID-19: OJO CALLS ON DELTANS TO SUSTAIN PRAYERS FOR OKOWA
Hon. (Dr) Alphonsus Ojo has called on Deltans to sustain prayers for the state Governor His Excellency Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, the wife, Her Excellency Dame Edith Okowa and other Deltans, tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.
The Paraclete of Ukwuani people, Hon. (Dr) Alphonsus Ojo, in a Press statement on Thursday, prayed for the speedy recovery of Governor Okowa, the First Lady and everyone infected by the virus.
Ojo, a former chairman on health, DTHA called on Deltans in both faiths to pray for their quick recovery. "I join faith with all Deltans in offering prayers to God Almighty for God's healing hands to embrace them all throughout the period of treatment", he said.
However, he reminded Deltans that COVID-19 is not a hoax and tasked everyone to take responsibility by following the recommended guidelines and practice social distancing to stop the spread of the virus.
He stressed the importance for everyone to sustain proper hygienic practices and obey other stipulated guidelines to contain the virus.
He urged Deltans not to lose hope in the fight but to sustain their support for the state and health practitioners that have remain on the front line combating the virus since the outbreak.
Hon. Ojo also prayed for the protection of all Deltans from the illness.
