 Delta Economic Council: Salute to Deltans at 29 - Dike Abraham

The Senior Special Assistant on Political to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Comrade Dike Abraham, has congratulated the good people of Delta State on the 29th anniversary of the creation of the state.


With the inauguration of Delta Economic Council by the Smart Governor of the state on Friday, Comrade Dike Abraham, said that it is his belief that the State will attain premium position on social-economic development in Nigeria.


He stated that Delta will witness robust economy, sustainable economic development and massive industrialisation of the state in the nearest future.


The Delta State Economic Council, headed by the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Kingsley Otuaro, was inaugurated on Friday in Asaba, by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.


However, at the inauguration ceremony in Asaba, the state capital, Gov. Okowa, urged the Council to proffer viable alternatives to building a strong public/private partnerships, formulate policies and practices that will promote institutional transparency and accountability, including systematic disclosure of accurate and reliable financial information.


Governor Ifeanyi Okowa also used the occasion to charge the members of the Council to institute strong, credible and enduring platforms for diversification of the economy, including enhancing business competitiveness.


Comrade Dike Abraham in his statement, said that the inaugurated Economic Council, is one of the Governor's initiative to engender sustainable economic growth and development, in building a stronger Delta. He described the development as "a 29th salute" to Deltans.


He stressed that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, being a quintessential democratic, a remarkable man of peace and outstanding administrator, has continued to establish precedent in governance, thus, leaving an indelible footprint.


Dike saluted Deltans for living in peace and harmony amongst one another since the creation of the state 29 years ago. He also urged the people to uphold and sustain the virtue of peaceful coexistence with one another.


He assured Deltans that the State Government is committed to the peace, unity and development of all parts of the state.



Comrade Dike Abraham, however, paid tribute to all past leaders of the State for their contributions and sacrifices towards her development. Calling on Deltans to sustain intensive prayers for the Governor, stressing that the State Government is more determined to bring more prosperity to all Deltans.
