 PDP CONGRESS: DIKE EULOGISES THE OKOWA'S EFFECT 


...Urges politicians aspiring for various offices in the State not to hit up the polity


The Delta State chapter of the People's Democratic Party PDP, on Saturday, 8th of August, 2020, successfully held her Congress at the Cenotaph, Asaba, the state capital.


The congress which witnessed the reelection of the State party chairman, Olorugun (Barr.) Kingsley Esiso, and Chief Goddey Obi-Nzete, the State Party Secretary, including some other officers of the party that were also returned in acknowledgement of  their enormous contributions to the growth and development of the party in their various active capacities during their first tenure in office.


The PDP, Delta State Chapter's 2020 Congress, was one of the most peaceful party Congress to be held in Nigeria in recent time.


Speaking to newsmen on Friday, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Political to, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, of Delta State, Comrade Abraham Dike, attributed the success of the Congress to what he called the OKOWA'S EFFECT.


Comrade Abraham Dike, said that the leadership acumen and administrative dexterity of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was reflected in the peaceful conduct of the State Congress, which he said has once again affirmed that he is the Ekwueme of politics.


The SSA to the Governor, said he was not surprised at the peaceful outcome of the Congress. "Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, had in time past organized the most peaceful, free and fair Congress in the history of PDP in different occasions, hence his own state couldn't have been an exception".


Comrd. Dike commended Gov. Okowa for deploying his wealth of experience, political sagacity and administrative dexterity to ensuring that the Congress was a success. "The outcome of the Congress has further strengthened the party, and positioned the party on the path of progress", he added.


He congratulated the thirty nine officers of the party, stressing that their election has proven their capacity. He also said, he believes that their second tenure would be much better than their first.


He however, called on politicians that are aspiring for various offices in the State, not to hit up the polity as they go about this campaigns. He admonished them not to drop the name of the Governor in their campaigns, and avoid acts capable of causing ill feelings among themselves, or that could drag the name of the party to the mud.
